Do you know that the #1 cause of drowning is a lapse in adult supervision and teenagers/adults/seniors swimming alone?
Do you know children ages 1-5 have the third highest drowning rate based on population in Palm Beach County, and that seniors are number one?
Do you know not to jump in after someone if they are drowning? Call 911, reach a long object out to them while laying on the ground or throw something that floats (i.e. Pool Noodle, Inner Tube).
Do you know to always swim in front of a lifeguard at the beach? There are flags at the guard stands that tell you beach conditions:
